All General Contracting functions were handled internally and new equipment was procured within a $3.4MM equipment budget and $1.2MM facilities budget. Flower City Printing Packaging Expansion 2010: The owners of FCP had a desire to delve deeper into the packaging vertical. This would include enhancing multiple parts of the operation through equipment enhancements and new ventures. We had a small Folding Carton division but we need to more than double the output plus allow for new creative type cartons. This was achieved through the acquisition of a Heidelberg ECO 105, it provided automation, speed and capabilities that we did not currently have. Once that was in place we embarked on a venture utilizing my previous knowledge of Flexo to create a new division which included a partnership with Nilpeter. The three press that were added we cutting edge technology, one of which (the Caslon) integrated both Flexo and Digital technology. This allowed for quick, short runs and eliminated make-readies and the need for overs for fulfillment purposes, it was true label printing on demand!

Edison Lithograph Digital Printing and Finishing Division: In 2015 Edison Lithograph had multiple divisions with overlap of capabilities. They desired to combine them into one facility reducing overhead and taking advantage of state incentives. A search was done for buildings that would allow for the combination of existing equipment and new automated machinery to allow for future growth. After working with both NJEDA and Georgia, the determination was to take advantage of over $8MM in GrowNJ tax credits and purchase a facility in Pennsauken NJ for $4.3MM. After a complete interior reconstruction and the addition of $4MM in automated machinery the two older facilities were moved to the new location. This allowed for an initial savings of 4MM for the company in both labor and overhead costs, not including the pending gains from GrowNJ grants and reduced funding from NJEDA.

Marketing Alliance Group Landa installation: In 2018, Marketing Alliance Group committed to install the first Landa S-10 printing press in the US. The project consisted in a significant build-out at one of their printing facilities in Dalton GA. The objective was to move short run offset jobs to this press and eliminate MR time and materials. This press also improved time to market, which was necessary when dealing with big box stores.
